People often say that the journey is more important than the destination, and for the road to Hana, this is certainly true. With 617 turns and 56 one-lane bridges, this is not a road for those who easily get car sick. Hana itself is nothing more than 3 streets, a tiny black sand beach in a bay, and only a single gas station. But the road is spectacular, winding through rainforest and alongside cliffs and the ocean, and the return trip is definitely worth the full day it takes to make.
