For the first time this trip, we needed to get up very, very early to catch a flight – 4.30 a.m. We made it on time, only to find out that instead of a 5 or 6 hour flight, we’d actually be flying for over 10 hours. But that included stops on Majuro, Kwajalein and Kosrae, so we got to stretch our legs from time to time. In the mean time, we also managed to get a day older: all of a sudden, instead of being 11 hours behind home, we are now 10 hours ahead! And the weird thing is, during our flight it only got to be earlier and earlier.
Our hotel on Pohnpei – The Village Hotel – is something else. The rooms are individual cabins in the jungle, with a great view of the ocean. We don’t have windows, though, just insect nets on three sides, but then again, we do have water beds. And apparently the restaurant has wireless Internet, so we may even be able to upload this post.
