Route
After we left Amsterdam on January 1st 2008, we visited Hawaii (Oahu, Big Island and Maui), Micronesia (Pohnpei, Chuuk, Yap, Palau and Guam), Bali, New Zealand (North & South Islands), Australia (South-East & Tasmania, West & North), Singapore, India, Nepal, Hong Kong, Macao, China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia (KL), Vanuatu, Fiji, Samoa, the Cook Islands, French Polynesia, Easter Island, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay. We unofficially set foot on Paraguayan soil before going to Brazil. After Brazil we went back to Argentina and Chile. From the North of Chile we went to Bolivia and then Peru and Ecuador (and Galápagos). Via Panama City we went to Cuba, our last destination. On March 27th 2009 we flew from Havana via Paris to Amsterdam, our home….
We couldn’t go to Tibet from Nepal as the Chinese had locked down Tibet. Chengdu, in China, was not an option either because of the earthquake.
We have a rough route around the globe plotted in Google Earth and are using Google Maps for more up to date details. The photo gallery contains a world map with the route as we followed it so far. It has clickable links to our photo albums plotted on it.

Nadat we Amsterdam op 1 januari 2008 verlieten, hebben we de volgende (ei)landen bezocht: Hawaii (Oahu, Big Island en Maui), Micronesië (Pohnpei, Chuuk, Yap, Palau en Guam), Bali, Nieuw Zeeland (Noord & Zuid Eilanden), Australië (Zuid-oost & Tasmanië, West & Noord), Singapore, India, Nepal, Hong Kong, Macau, China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos , Cambodja, Maleisië (KL), Vanuatu, Fiji, Samoa, de Cook Islands, Frans Polynesië, Paaseiland, Chili, Argentinië en Uruguay. We hebben onofficieel voet op Paraguayaanse bodem gezet voordat we Brazilië introkken. Na Brazilië zijn we weer terug gegaan naar Argentinië en Chili. Vanuit noord Chili zijn we naar Bolivia gegaan en daarna Peru en Ecuador (en Galápagos). Via Panama City zijn we in Cuba aangekomen, onze laatste bestemming. Op 27 maart 2009 zijn we vanaf Havana via Parijs naar Amsterdam gevlogen, waar we wonen…
We konden helaas niet naar Tibet omdat de Chinezen het land hadden afgegrendeld ivm. eerdere onrusten. Chengdu in China was ook geen optie vanwege de aardbeving daar.
We hebben een globale route geplot in Google Earth en gebruiken Google Maps voor kaartjes met meer details. In de foto gallery bevindt zich een wereldkaart met de routes zoals we die tot nu toe hebben gevolgd. Er staan klikbare links op geplot om bij het bijbehorende fotoalbum te komen.
